    Installation Process

    Installing garage floor epoxy is a multi-step process that our team can accomplish quickly and efficiently. The process begins with a cleaning and inspection of your existing floor for damage. If we discover any damage, such as cracking or chipping, we’ll need to repair it before we can move forward. Any cracks will be fixed using an injectable epoxy filler that prevents them from spreading. Chipped areas will be repaired using a concrete patch to stop the chipping from getting worse. These damages have to be corrected as they can compromise the structural integrity of the garage floor epoxy.
    Once all repairs have been made, we’ll move on to preparing the surface of the concrete for epoxy. Surface prep involves using a floor grinder equipped with a diamond grinding wheel to grind down any minor blemishes, such as pits, and ensures proper adhesion between the concrete and epoxy resin. With the surface prepped and ready, we’ll begin mixing the epoxy resin. If you’ve chosen metallic epoxy for your garage, the metallic pigments will be added during this step. Next, we’ll pour the epoxy over the concrete and spread it using specialized tools. Multiple layers of epoxy will be mixed and poured until we reach the desired thickness for the floor. If you want a pattern on your garage floor, we’ll create the design as the last layer is applied. If you’ve selected decorative flake epoxy for your garage floor, we’ll broadcast the acrylic chips over the final layer of the epoxy base. With all patterns or decorative flakes in place, the floor is ready for the clear epoxy topcoat. Once the topcoat is installed, your new garage floor epoxy will need time to cure. The garage floor will be 90% cured after 24 hours and can be walked on only. After 72 hours, the floor will be 100% cured and ready for full use!
