The Concrete Polishing Process

We’ll start with a floor grinder equipped with a coarse-grit diamond grinding wheel. This is a three- to four-step grind that begins with a 30- or 40-grit wheel and finishes with around a 150-grit wheel. Next, we’ll apply an impregnating sealer that strengthens and densifies the concrete, protecting it from the inside out. After the concrete is sealed, we’ll start polishing with a 100- or 200-grit polishing wheel. Polishing is a four- or five-step process that finishes with a 1,500- or 3,000-grit polish, depending on the shine level you desire. Once we’re finished, your floor is ready for use!
