Standard Epoxy Flooring
Metallic Epoxy Flooring
Metallic epoxy is available in a broad spectrum of colors and can be used to create one-of-a-kind patterns that can’t be duplicated. Some of the patterns that are popularly made with metallic epoxy include swirling, colorful patterns, and designs that mimic the look of scenes from nature. Some of the natural scenes made with metallic epoxy are bubbling lava, rippling ocean waves, cloud-dotted skies.
Decorative Flake Epoxy Flooring
The acrylic chips come in various shapes, colors, and sizes ranging from 1/16 to 1 inch. They can also be broadcast in varying densities, from sparse to dense to completely coating the floor. Not to mention, the underlying epoxy base can be colored to complement the flakes’ colors!
3D Epoxy Flooring
On the other hand, the image in a 3D epoxy floor is installed on the epoxy primer and coated with a thick layer of clear epoxy topcoat. This thick layer creates a feeling of depth as you’re above the image instead of immediately on it.
This beautiful, unique effect can be created with practically any image, from underwater scenes to landscapes to space!
Specialty Epoxy Flooring
Some popular specialty epoxy flooring ideas have been penny epoxy floors, bottle cap epoxy floors, and even a vinyl record epoxy floor! These floors are made by applying a base layer of epoxy, applying a layer of the specialty material, such as pennies, bottle caps, vinyl records, or virtually anything else, and finally coating the entire floor with a thick layer of clear epoxy topcoat.
The effect created with these floors can be quite striking and is usually somewhat special or sentimental to the person who decided on the design. Whether it’s your decades-old coin collection, favorite vinyl albums, or whatever else, you can make a floor out of it with epoxy!
