    Process

    Industrial concrete polishing is a multi-step process that hardens and densifies your existing concrete while creating a high-gloss finish on the floor. Our team will start the process by cleaning and inspecting your floor for damage, such as cracking and chipping. If we come across any damage, we’ll need to repair it before continuing with the polishing process. We’ll fix cracks with an injectable epoxy filler to prevent them from spreading.
    We’ll repair chipping areas with a concrete patch that will stop it from worsening. With the repairs completed, we can move on to the rough grind part of the process. This consists of using a floor grinder fitted with a coarse grinding wheel to buff out any minor blemishes and prep the floor for the sealer and fine polishing. The rough grind is a three- to four-step process. We’ll begin with around a 30-grit grinding wheel and move up to a higher grit with each pass we make. Our team will finish the rough grind with a 150-grit grinding wheel. Next, we’ll apply an impregnating sealer to strengthen and densify the concrete while protecting it from the inside out. With the sealer in place, we’re ready for the last portion of the process, polishing! The fine polishing of the floor is a four- to five-step process. The polishing starts with a 100-grit polishing wheel, and we’ll make our way up to a 1,500- or 3,000-grit polishing wheel with each pass, depending on the level of sheen you desire for your floor. Once we’ve made our last pass and pack up our equipment, your industrial polished concrete floor will be ready for full use! Depending on the size of your industrial floor, the level of sheen you want, and the number of repairs that need to be made, the concrete polishing process can take up to two or three days to complete. Our team will work quickly and efficiently to help minimize the downtime needed to polish your floors so your industrial business can stay on track!
